AboutYou have entered ’Gorgeous’, the first Kashmir fanlisting online approved by The Fanlistings Network. "A fanlisting is a website created by a fan of a particular subject, with the aim of gathering together a list of other fans of that particular subject." Kashmir is a Danish rock band formed in 1991. By introducing a new genre called ‘groovecore’, a mix of heavy funk and humorous lyrics, they contributed to a revolution in Danish rock. However, while other promising bands of the generation seized to exist, Kashmir managed to develop into a more mature and serious band, which the third album “The Good Life” in 1999 seemed to cement. The success and especially the following great expectations left the band drained from energy and ideas, which eventually lead to Kasper Eistrup having a writer’s block. It took years of blood, sweat and tears to create ‘Zitilites’, which was released in Denmark March 2003 to much acclaim. The period of both crisis and finally artistic redemption was filmed by film director Kasper Torsting and edited to the documentary film ‘Rocket Brothers’. Only two years after (in 2005) Kashmir released their fifth album ‘No Balance Palace’, which features two legends of rock. David Bowie joins in on ‘The Cynic’ and Lou Reed recites a poem by Kasper Eistrup on ‘Black Building’. For more information go here. |
